Just a reminder that earlier this year, the women's soccer team scored a go-ahead goal with 2 seconds left against Louisville.

And on the flip side, we gave up the go-ahead goal against Cal with less than 10 seconds left

Before this year, I would have said that I liked that the refs had discretion on how much injury time to allow, in order to make up for teams that were unduly delaying, but I have to say that "buzzer beater" goals are tremendously exciting, and knowing that the clock is down to the last few seconds can add a sense of urgency in getting that last second shot off.
By the way, because time had not expired on that last shot, Notre Dame had a Hail Mary of their own immediately afterwards. I'm of course delighted it didn't go in, but could you imagine if it had?
