Yes, that has to be on the short list.
What else would be on the list of most electric moments in Stanford sports history? Maybe some of these --
-- Paul Carey's walk-off grand slam against LSU in the CWS in 1987.
-- Mark Madsen's steal and dunk against Rhode Island in the 1998 NCAA tournament.
-- The Pritchard to Bradford TD to beat USC in the biggest upset ever in 2007.
Other thoughts?
Great list, Terry - I'd maybe add Owen Marecic's 2 TDs - 1 yd run for an offensive TD, then 13 seconds later, a 20 yd defensive TD off an INT from his LB position - in our 37-10 spankfest of the Domers in 2010.
Otherwise, your 3 choices bring great memories
- LSU game: I, and a student intern (SU junior) were working late on projects in separate offices that evening. When PC put the ball away, we simultaneously screamed, ran out of our offices and bunny-hopped in the hallway like a couple of crazed school kids on Halloween sugar highs
- For the MBB win and the FB win over SC, I was still a carefree bachelor living near downtown PA, so drove to campus to greet both those team's buses. I'll never forget the dazed/glazed "WTH - shouldn't you all be studying or something?!?!?..." look on Pete Sauer's (RIP) face when he first got off the bus. Then, the atmosphere in front of Maples when the FB team got back from LA was just surreal and electric - I forget all the cumulative circumstances, but it'd been a tough couple of years with overall campus morale at a real low, until that night
