According to the announcers, the difference was that Louisville had the highest SoS, the highest non-conference SoS, and no losses outside of the top-5 (Pitt twice, Nebraska, Penn State, and Stanford).  Also, they cited the higher RPI (though Stanford had the higher KPI).  I think that is a solid rationale, and as I said, it was a ridiculously close decision.  Had we not lost to Miami, we would have been a #1 seed (probably ahead of Penn State).

Yes, Sac State our first round opponent.  LMU and UW also in our quadrant.  It was obvious once they made LMU the 7th seed.
