Whatever happened to believing in yourself and the old iron sharpens iron meme? I get being recruited over, but stay and fight, man. 

I know, easy for me to say and who knows what players are hearing.

I'm still in professional job number two, with 39 years of experience. So, I did leave once.  I wasn't over-recruited, just one step ahead of Johnny Recession. Took a risk that worked out. I like the idea that players can do the same now. Risk-reward.

Actually, I think it was a risk reduction move. If he stayed at Oregon, he risked being buried on the depth chart, possibly forever. If he goes to Kal, he is assured (one way or another) that he will start. I am pretty sure Kal matched (or beat) his NIL, whatever it was, so no risk differential there. Of course, his supporting cast at Kal won't be as good, but that only matters if you actually see the field. It was clear that he wasn't the "first choice" at Oregon, so that was much greater risk.
