Prayers for everyone directly affected by the fires.
There's significant fog of war preventing us from knowing all the details of what's happening. For example, the LA Times' estimate just went from 2000 structures lost to 9000 structures lost. I imagine most of those structures burned yesterday, but the update took until dark this evening. Relatedly, we should react with skepticism to politicized reports of events. Some of the opinions we're seeing are based on misunderstandings about what happened or why. At this point, I'm just in the mode of sending care to those who need it and gratitude to those who earned it.
