.Interestingly, during the podcast, Kiki was directly asked if she knew about Tara's retirement before she made her decision to leave Stanford, and she hesitated before saying, "I don't know." It sounds like she may have known!

Kiki was at Tara's farewell news conference.  Kiki even asked Tara a question:  "What is your favorite Tara-ism?" (See 39.06.)  I think at the time Tara announced her retirement Kiki either had not made up her mind or had not communicated her decision to Tara.  At some point during one of the press conferences around that time, Tara affectionately noted that Kiki would always be "her" player since she had coached her for three years, and that Kate would only get her for one year.
