Good introduction to the game as usual.  I believe the NCAA NET ranking has Stanford at 47 and Virginia Tech at 45 if I'm understanding it correctly.  What would be the approximate NET ranking at the end of the season for Stanford to make the NCAA tournament?

It would seem that going strictly by NET ranking, Stanford is close to being in good shape.  Using the ESPN Charlie Creme bracketology update from yesterday, here are bubble teams, along with their current Net ranking:
Last 4 Byes: Minnesota (31), Indiana (38), Nebraska (36), Oregon (40)
Last 4 In: Princeton (49), Harvard (35), Virginia Tech (45), Iowa State (38)
First 4 Out: Washington (52), Saint Joseph's (50), Belmont (56), George Mason (43)
Next 4 Out: South Florida (67), Colorado (65), Villanova (68), Arizona (59)

Obviously there is more at work here than simply NET or Stanford should probably be listed with the First 4 Out.  But the losses to Indiana, SMU, Clemson, & Louisville have put them in a position of having no more room for error.

Of the 5 remaining games, it would seem that Boston College (NET of 71), @ UVA (87), & Miami (78) are must wins and probably won't help Stanford's NET much, if at all.  The other 2 games could give them a boost: @ VaTech (45), and Georgia Tech (26).  Seems like a sweep of those games and a win in the ACC tourney might be needed.
