The golf course played very tough. No team finished under par. USC, the #5 team in the country, finished +37 (which put them 37 shots behind Stanford).
Stanford was led today by Megha Ganne and Paula Martin Sampedro who shot 67 and 68 respectively. Meja Ortengren had even par 70. Nora Sundberg, with a rock steady even par on the back 9, shot 72. Kelly Xu surprisingly struggled to a 76.
I think it's clear that 4 spots in the lineup are locked up by Xu, Ganne, Martin Sampedro and Ortengren. The 5th is up for grabs among Sundberg, Andrea Revuelta and Leigh Chien.
Revuelta and Chien played as individuals yesterday and today at a tournament in Millbrae. Revuelta finished T3 and Chien was T11.
The team now preps for a big week at Augusta for the Augusta National Women's Amateur which begins a week from tomorrow. All of the team except for Chien will be there. Rachel Heck too.
The next collegiate action for the team is the ACC tournament which begins Weds, April 16.
You are correct, BB.
