The Mariners Robles will be out for at least 12 weeks but does not need surgery per Adam Jude of the Seattle Times.  Great catch but he paid a price.

Any opinions on the outfield netting at the Giants Park?

Watching the replays definitely made me wonder if the netting was intended to be more tightly pegged into the ground but somebody had removed the pegs. The netting definitely didn't stop him from falling into the wall. It didn't seem to even slow him down much. The wall appears to be padded, but only minimally.

Yes, Goose.  I saw the same thing and it reminded me of watching Giants players of the past crash into the ivy wall at Wrigley expecting padding but getting the full brunt of the concealed brick and concrete curtain wall instead.  

The Giants usually fix field issues once they are identified.  For example, they moved the bullpen after OF Steven Duggar's injury from chasing a foul ball over the pitchers mound.  Early on the (PacBell Days) the front office would highlight bullpen visibility from the stands as a fan friendly design benefit so that was a noticeable adjustment.  

Here's hoping they fix this before they lose a key Giant outfielder even if it's too late for the Mariners and Robles.
