At the deadline, the Giants traded Tyler Rogers (who is on an expiring contract and will likely be very expensive next year) for three players:

1) righty reliever Jose Butto, who had a great year last year, and is having a good year this year. Also, he's only 27. He smoked the Giants three days ago. Maybe he does well at Oracle.

2) RHP, starter, Blade Tidwell, just turned 4, 2nd rd. pick of the Mets in 2022. Did great at AA, tough time in AAA Syracuse. Losing record both at AA and AAA. Two starts for the Mets, gave up 4 HRs in 15 innings, 15 earned runs. Extremely wild, 10 walks and 10 K's in those 15 innings.

3) OF Drew Gilbert, nearly 25, 1st round pick of Houston in 2022. .233/.334/.417/.752 line in AAA. Good range in the outfield, plays mainly center, seven errors in 157 games. Not a stolen base threat. Developed nicely until last year. Made some Top 100 and Top 50 lists in 2022 and 2023.

Frankly, the Giants didn't get much.
