Ledecky won the 800 m free by fractions of a second.  McIntosh actually fell to third despite gaining a brief lead after 700 m.

I have never seen Ledecky so exhausted at the end of a race.

Apparently the food poisoning isn't only affecting the Americans.  Here's one Australian swimmer that says she lost 11 pounds in "48 hours of hell". The article also mentions a British swimmer and another Australian.

Rowdy Gaines expressed frustration that USA Swimming hasn't had a CEO for a year.  But he had good words about Greg Meehan.
