Between alumni relations and development, the number of cuts appears to be over 20.  I guess they are focusing more on really big donors and less on the small fish who take years to cultivate but whose current donations don't pay for themselves.  The alumni and development will probably be kept on through the October reunions.

On the food side, 3 chefs and 3 dieticians are being laid off.

almost all the jobs have an end date of 10/01/2025 (which is just over the 60 days required by the WARN filing)

The Chronicle article said the layoffs would take place between 9/30 and 11/1.

if you look at the WARN filing linked above almost all of them have an effective date (last day of work) of 10/01/2025.  I don't know how Stanford handles people during the WARN period but my last few employers essentially paid you for the 60 days, some had you work during that time and some did not.

There were a large number of layoffs within DAPER last week. I didn't see most of them on the filing.

Can you document this?  A quick search didn’t show any mention of this. I don’t know that such layoffs would need to be in such a filing, but I would think so

WARN filing is required if 50 or more employees are involved - I could see the layoffs occuring without being "documented" if the #s were below 50, plus the timelines are different

some companies are very good at playing the "avoid doing a WARN filing thing", laying off just under the reportable limit (50 people at one location or some percentage of the workforce in that location), spacing them far enough apart in time to not be reportable, having enough locations to get under the reportable limit (e.g., layoff people in SF and SJ and treat them as separate events)
