These cuts provide some cushion for the reduced funding at the medical school, but we haven’t seen what its cuts look like since they are operating on a different timeline.

I'm not sure where Stanford Medical is on all this, but a bunch of NIH grants were reinstated a month ago.  I don't know for sure, but my guess is the court order does not help for the turnover of NIH grants.  So, this may just be a stay of execution.
