And over the years, how much to Oregon? One would think that a dollar donated to do cancer research at Stanford would be better well spent than a dollar donated to Oregon to do the same. Apparently that's not the case anymore. Have the mighty fallen THAT far?

this gift is to Oregon Health & Science University which since 1974 has been not part of The University of Oregon.  Given this is a follow-on to previous gifts of $600m ($100m in 2008 and a follow on $500m in 2015) they appear to like what OH&SU are doing.

I wonder if the Knight's, or a family member, or close friend have benefited from care with either Doctor Druker, or part of his team, or his previous work, and/or if they want to improve cancer treatment options in Oregon, which from the above it sounds like gift will fund cancer care along with research.
