Robbie Ray got the win, now 10-6. HE and Webb lead the NL in starts, Webb leads NL in innings pitched at 160 2/3 and Ray is right behind at 154 2/3. Next most wins is Roupp (7-6), then Doval, Rogers, Walker, Birdsong and Stanford's own Erik Miller all have four wins each Miller, incidentally, has the best winning percentage on the team. He's 4-1, 1.50 ERA, best of any pitcher with at least 4 IP. Pretty cool.
It was the correct call. The ball does not have to be touched by a fan to be considered interference. I think that is why Kuip was surprised. In fact, if a fan reaches over the fence and blocks a players vision while the player is trying to make a play, it is considered interference. In essence that is what happened. The replay clearly shows the fan reaching over the fence with his arm above Ramos’ glove. After the game, Ramos said he lost sight of the ball when guy reached for the ball. Nice work by the replay crew….
