All of the Big 4, for example, affirmatively require the disclosure of player availability reports for at least some sports. Though, as Jamesy noted, that concern is related to those who want the info for gambling purposes. I follow Stanford sports closely enough that I care about how individual athletes are doing. But the athletes and coaches certainly don't owe me anything.
