True story on Tank! (The Cowboy Bebop song). It was recorded in one take and the alto saxophone part was completely improvised by Masato Honda. Dude is badass.
On another note, Musora has a series of bands covering songs from completely different genres. Here’s a Norwegian prog/metal band I’d never heard of (Leprous) covering “Take on Me” by A-ha (ironically, also a Norwegian band, though it is hard to believe the guys at Musora didn’t do it on purpose).
