I was at Maylon-Sweet airport in Eugene to pick up a friend for the UO/SU game and saw several of the recruiters greet recruits as they came off the various flights. Always the same greeting, "Welcome home Bro." After a couple of the recruits moved to their transport, the chief recruit would mutter things like, "What a lunkhead." So indeed, they know what they are recruiting.
Haven\'t heard \'lunkhead\' for a long time...he must be from the Midwest.
In classes, the UO, and many other schools, actually has people who take the athlete-students to their courses or come and count the number of attendees to be sure that their charges are indeed in the classes. As foreign to those of us from places like Stanford, education is very different in other places. If education is what you call it.
