Picking Iowa to me is very different than a recruit picking Notre Dame, Duke, UCLA, or USC over us. Good luck to her. Hope she can survive those Midwest winters. Iowa will now have two CA kids on their roster.

Yeah that is now two Mitty stars who have spurned Stanford. I wonder if Hayley Jones's ungraceful exit had anything to do with it. Or if not that what did.

The same reason we've missed out on other big-time recruits.  Tara's gone and last season's performance didn't help.  Kate and company will have to get the team back to being the powerhouse they once were, or at least close to it.

We are fortunate Swain, Somfai & Eschemeyer decided to go with us despite the uncertainty or else Kate would have had a whole less to work with.

As I mentioned before, I think this upcoming season is critical for the future of the program. ESPN has us as a #9 seed in their first pre-season Bracketology since the end of last year recently. I hope that will be our floor and we can get into a #5-#6 range and maybe if the freshmen make an immediate impact, then one of the last #4 seeds (perhaps that's wishful thinking)

In any case, it is imperative that we prove that last year's results were a fluke and that Kate can re-establish that level of excellence in the post-Tara era. I believe that could convince the elite recruits to consider us again, because right now, it seems like we are not drawing too much interest from the top-10 recruits in the next couple classes.
