Giants Used Trio at Second Base but None Took Hold of Job’s Future

And yet...second base wasn't really their issue. SF had the 12th highest WAR in MLB at 2B. Most of their groups finished poorly, including shortstop (15th), right field (16th), DH (16th), center field (18th), relief pitching (18th), left field (20th), starting pitching (21st), catching (22nd), first base (24th).

Third base/Matt Chapman finished 2nd in all of MLB in terms of WAR, the only position on the Giants to beat out second base.

I imagine that next year the Giants will improve at DH, 1B, SS, CF. Not sure where the other improvement will come from.

With the A's gone to Sacto, and (hopefully) more wins, do you anticipate that Giants attendance will increase?

Between Posey's ascension, Chapman's signing, Adames' signing, Devers' signing, and mid-season trades, the Giants figured out how to put people in seats:

Buster did well in his first year. He got rid of 10 players who had combined for 6.2 bWAR in 2024 who collectively declined to -0.9 bWAR. One (Casali) was out of baseball, eight of the remaining nine played worse. He added eight players who were collectively worth 1.8bWAR in 2024, and in 2025 they delivered 5.7 bWAR with six of the eight improving. Pretty darned good there, Buster.
