That ND match being officially a draw is probably why we're not the #1 overall seed. Ridiculous in my opinion.

For reasons I cannot quite put my finger on, I have assumed that Notre Dame is the overall #1 seed. 
However, I cannot find anything published on the internet that specifies overall seeding.
Have you seen something specific to that effect?

ND is in the top left of the bracket where the top overall seed goes and is paired with Vanderbilt who is the weakest of the 1 seeds.
