For me, returning from the east coast was always more jet-lag inducing than going to the east coast. On long flights where I can get 6 or more hours of sleep, the direction doesn't matter. I will not suffer much at all from jet lag. Leaving from SFO at midnight and walking into the office at about 8 AM local in OZ is just a normal day :-).
