It's not the Warriors' fault. The front office set it up so they could trade Kuminga and picks for a 3&D wing or a center. Pair that player with Curry, Butler, Green, and a couple of role players. Maybe you've got something. They weren't going to beat the Spurs or Thunder anyway, but maybe they'd win a round in the playoffs. Then Butler went down with an injury that will keep him out this whole year and half of next. When the core is already 38, 36, and 36, a year of delay is rough. I guess the Warriors could trade Butler's expiring contract at the deadline next year. But will anyone give first round compensation for a 37 year old earning 60mm coming off an ACL? I just think the team will be stuck until they fully embrace the rebuilt. They do have a free spending GM when opportunity arises, so they could be interesting again in 4 years if things go well...
