On a somewhat related note, according to the stats at gostanford.com, right-hander Ryan Speshyock has yet to pitch this season. He had a solid summer in the Cape Cod League as a reliever.
It's too early to draw conclusions, but Stanford's pitching has been uneven but not terrible. The defense has been shaky on occasion and the hitting needs to wake up. There's no way Jimmy Nati's on-base % should be .235.
