That is a *lot* of potentially departing talent.  I wonder how Okorie feels about his chances in the draft.

I am cautiously optimistic that Ebuka feels good about the incoming talent and his Stanford experience. If he goes to the NBA, I will wish him all the success he deserves and appreciate the season of entertainment he gave us. But I sure would love to see him back!

As for yesterday - what a game! So happy for Benny & his entourage - all wearing their "Benny Buckets" t-shirts. With all that's wrong with college sports, true student-athletes like Benny keep me coming back for more.

One additional point. Ebuka had one post-game interview. He almost went to Harvard. His dad urged him to take a look at Stanford. He’s very much into education. My (optimistic) prediction: he’ll be around for two more years.

What an awesome game to attend in person. Benny went out a hero, and our team really showed out for senior day. Outside of Okorie, most of our three-point production came from Gealer, Agarwal and JDS, so it'll be interesting to see who steps up next year for us. It was also an interesting set of mismatches yesterday, because we had much better outside shooting and guard coverage, but when SMU could get the ball inside to within 5 feet of the rim, we basically had no answer. We just did a much better job taking away the passing lanes than they did smothering our shot outside. I was also surprised they went to a zone for a while, because we had already been shooting well from outside, but it seemed like the SMU coach was running through every tactic to see if any would work (including, for a while, pressing). 

Congrats to Coach Smith for producing a team that was far greater than the sum of its parts, and for spotting the diamond in the rough that is Okorie. I have no idea what his future intentions are, but he came to part of the women's game today and was really gracious about taking pictures and chatting with fans. He's the first BB player since Cam Brink that I can think of who has the "big man/woman on campus" vibe that naturally draws crowds. Here's hoping he continues to do so for at least one more season!
