Taryn Kern was Big Ten Player and Freshman of the Year in 2023. Here are her stats at Stanford, according to D1Softball:
2024, 67 games
.275 BA/.504 OBP/.509 SLG/1.013 OPS 44 runs 7 HRs 31 RBIs 4 SB
2025, 55 games
.348 BA/.511 OBP/.774 SLG/1.286 OPS 63 runs 19 HRs 42 RBIs 1 SB
2026 (so far), 37 games
.405 BA/.544 OBP/.946 SLF/1.490 OPS 51 runs 14 HRs 37 RBIs 2 SB
She has 10 total stolen bases for her career, never caught. She changed primary defensive positions this year to make room for Addyson Sheppard.
I can't think of another high impact transfer to Stanford softball during the Allister era. In fact I can't think of any at all period. Then again maybe it's PTSD from the transfers out at the end of the Rittman era.

If there's one thing people have learned in Berkeley, it's that you can't put "Cal football" and "Rose Bowl" in the same sentence. The words just don't fit. You'd be better off linking "covered wagons" with "Mars travel." (Bruce Jenkins, Cal '70, SF Chronicle, Nov. 11, 2017)
