My memory is definitely suspect (and hyperbole was rampant) but I seem to recall Eric “Roscoe” Hardgrave hitting something closer to 500’ back in the ‘80s, or so legend had it (I think)…

Regardless of the state of your memory, giving all the details is good enough for me. Early 80s?

A 476' home run is incredible in this era of bats needing to be BBCOR 0.50 certified. There were some very long home runs in the unregulated aluminum bat era, but we're really comparing apples and oranges due to the different bat composition.
