The Stanford 2V8 and V4 each won their semifinal to advance to the A Final. The 1V8 placed second in their semifinal behind Texas to advance to the A Final. The hope is that Stanford has another gear to go in the 1V8 because that event holds the largest point value counting toward the championship. If Texas beats Stanford in a 1-2 finish for the 1V8, Stanford will have to win both the other two events and hope that as many other teams as possible also beat Texas in those other events to push the Texas point total further down. Virginia might be able to do it, but I am not confident. I choose to believe in the Stanford women and their head coach Derek Byrnes...last race, fast race!
