Disaster struck Stanford in the four's. They show it at 30 seconds into the attached video but they only describe it as a "technical error". Caused Stanford to finish 5th in that race after they were neck and neck with Texas for the win. I wonder what happened. Either the Stanford rower caught a nasty crab (that's rowing terminology for the blade of the oar getting stuck under water) or some kind of equipment failure.

Yep. Other sources confirm Stanford caught a crab in the final 500 meters of the fours. Might have cost them the team title.

Wouldn't have mattered. Even if we had won the 4s, we would had tied Texas and Texas would still win the team title by virtue of them winning the 1v8.
