Dumb question, does it make sense to draw a distinction between scholarships and walk ons any more?  I thought it was just “roster spots”.

It does, because all walk-ons prior to this year are grandfathered in and don't count towards the 105 "roster spots."

To that end, the following walk-ons (who would have been grandfathered in) were put on scholarship:

• Aidan Flintoft
  
• Peyton Warford
  
• Charlie Eckhardt
  
• Charlie Mirer
  
• Marcus Brown (I think)

 In addition, TE CJ Hawkins, who played for Stanford in 2022 and 2023 but then quit the football team, has now apparently graduated and is transferring to play at Rhode Island as a graduate student.

Hawkins was cut by coach Taylor.

Former RB Brendon Barrow, also cut by Taylor, is also now at Rhode Island as a grad student.

4. Other Changes
 
     a. There three position switches.
             ==> Senior Tre Williams ILB à OLB
             ==> 5th year Zach Rowell DT à DE
             ==> Junior Ziron Brown C à OG
 

As usual the roster is sloppy. Wrong (not switched), wrong (not switched, he played interior DL all day against Hawaii), right
 

     b. One incoming transfer, senior OL Dara Adeyemi, from Bucknell, was announced, but also does not appear on the roster.
