Quite a few years ago, the team had a conditioning coach who took his job seriously. Maybe too seriously. IIRC he was forced out by player complaints. Since then, … well, correlation does not imply causality, but still, …

My recollection is that said coach bombed at his subsequent stop, which makes me wonder whether his spate of good results were a) just a run of good luck at Stanford or b) benefited from “pharmacological” interventions (IIRC several of his players subsequently were suspended for running afoul the NFL’s substance policy)
