I remember the 2018 season when Stanford had to air it out a lot. And they were successful. Sometimes you just end up with an OL that can pass block better than they can run block. Turns out we have some good WRs too. And we also have a solid RB who can threaten at any time if the defense cheats away from the LOS.
Thankfully, none of the Stanford mistakes/penalties cost them the game (offensive playcalling included). Brandon Nicholson had such a clutch, clutch INT, and I hope he's doing okay. He may have saved the game for Stanford. The penalties, bad tackling, and bad playcalling certainly didn't help. But we can learn from those mistakes, right?
The last real offensive possession was Shaw-esque, running twice ineffectively and then failing an obvious third and long passing situation...with five minutes left on the clock. We know that nightmare and should have exorcised it long ago.
Credit to the halftime adjustments that resulted in the win. Maybe it's all coming together now...!
