No longer a player, but Sam Fuld, who is President of Business Operations for the Phillies reportedly turned down being President of the A’s

Fuld was previously the GM for the Phillies, went to Wharton and got an MBA, and is the heir apparent to become president of baseball operations when Dave Dombroski, who is 70, retires.
