I definitely think it was the most entertaining. The 2021 Nebraska Huskers (3-9) lost all nine games by single digits. The 2016 Notre Dame (4-8) team outscored its opponents 371-334, seven of eight losses were by eight points or fewer, they finished #26 in the contemporary S&P ratings. Mike McGlinchey was on that team. The 2022 Iowa State team (year after Purdy left) had six losses by one score, and 11 of their 12 opponents went to the postseason.
But the coolest 4-8 team was Stanford's 2007 version.
Didn't get to see the Greatest Upset in person but next best thing was heading down to meet the team at Maples after they flew back later that night. There were probably a couple of thousand people there - just effing glorious! Same after MBB got back to campus after beating Jim Harrick's URI team in the Midwest Finals in '98 - still remember Pete Sauer's slightly dazed, "Shouldn't you all be sleeping, or at least studying?!?!?" look getting off the team bus. Good times.....
