Back in the Paul Wiggins era, Stanford played Oklahoma on a rainy day in Norman on artificial turf. The Oklahoma players were slipping all over the place while the Stanford players were not. Stanford won in an upset. There was an article (I can\'t remember which paper) after the game that explained that the Stanford players were wearing shoes with special soles. The material in the soles increased the friction against artificial turf when they were wet. I have never heard this mentioned since and it could certainly be that the paper was wrong. (This has happened a few times in the past.) Does anyone know about this?
