Margin of victory is irrelevant to the computers--they took it out after the uproar that Nebraska made it into the title game way back in 2000 over Oregon. That\'s why Sagarin\'s PREDICTOR measure (which the casinos use to set their lines) likes us better than his ELO_CHESS measure (which the BCS uses).
Meanwhile, it\'s not totally unjustifiable for Nebraska to be ranked ahead of us. They lost to Texas, true, but on the other hand they\'ve beaten Oklahoma State (which is a one-loss team) and handed Missouri their first loss. Both of those wins are probably better, as a CV line, than anything Stanford can boast.
The team that\'s unjustifiably ranked ahead of us is Ohio State. They\'ve beaten no one that\'s currently ranked, and their loss (@ Wisconsin) is much worse than our loss (@ Oregon).
