The crowd is fine.  [highlight]I understand that[/highlight] people across the nation would expect a game with that kind of importance to get at least 50,000 in the stands.

[highlight]I definitely understand[/highlight] that this will not happen routinely at Stanford.  So many things work against Stanford.  Private school, wealthy communities, a large percentage of immigrants, millions of transplants from other parts of the USA, ample TV options, etc., etc.

[highlight]I know[/highlight] fans of other programs would look at that crowd of that size and worry that the AD\'s bills will not get paid if attendance does not pick up.  Stanford has a different business, err non-profit, model so all will be fine.
