Yeah, what Garvin said. The LA Times recently offered a bunch of people job buyouts. I don't think it was widely publicized because well, not enough reporters. But typos and unclear writing have gone up tremendously in the last coupla months. Along with great headlines like below:

Yvonne, I use the AP Stylebook every day, but I haven't touched the hard copy since 2006. I prefer the online subscription — it's easy to search, regularly updated and has a useful "Ask The Editor" section.
