Facts:
- Nobody posting on message boards knows what happened
- Cal coaches and AD should not respond to such allegations as they are handled by the university itself
- The young woman did herself no favors by posting her allegations on social media
- The severity of the circumstance hinges on what the university knew and when
If the university didn't know about the allegations until the social media post, Cal looks really terrible and high level heads would have to roll pending an investigation into how such allegations are handled at the university. If the allegations were already reported and being handled by the proper channels at the university - as it seems is the case here - then there really is nothing institutionally corrupt, the matter will be investigated on its merits and appropriate action will be taken vis-a-vis those involved.
As an aside, the young woman also made a post saying she suffers from mental illness and is taking a leave of absence from school to deal with it.
I find it almost impossible to believe Cal doesn't have the processes and protocols in place to deal with this kind of stuff given the high profile incidents the university has faced of this nature in the not so distant past. UCB is not Baylor as some might want to think.
