Gordon had four set points in the last three games and finally won the last one to extend to the third set.

Arbuthnott lost her match -- lost five games in a row after leading 4-1 in the second set.  she came back from triple match point but lost the no-ad point.

Lampl is an emotional player. She seemed to get down on herself in the latter part of the 2nd set. But she starts the 3rd set with a service break. Maybe that will build some momentum for her.

Shin in controversial fashion, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.

UNC's player had been calling some very questionable lines, with no overrules.  At 30-40 in the final game, Shin called a serve out and was overruled.  Serving to the same ad court, the Tarheel hit a ball up the middle that Shin again called long, and the umpire didn't overrule.  The UNC player whined, pointed, made some comments that drew some reaction... then proceeded to double fault the match away.

And tossed her racket.

But it doesn't matter. Stanford 5-2, and onto the finals!
