Always thought the 2PM local time start was really there to allow Miss State the largest possible window to host the game whenever the thunderstorms would permit. Seemed likely for a few days that the 7PM local start would be very promising, but much harder to push that earlier if the storms suddenly became more likely in the evening hours. So best to leave it early and then delay it as required.
As it stands, just a typical June day in the South.
If this was in California the rain and lightning would scare away the masses for the rest of the day, but I am confident the place will be packed once the lightning is far enough away to allow the fans in the stands.

The locals seem to be very frustrated based on Twitter replies to @HailStateBB. Apparently it’s not raining in Starkville now but is scheduled to rain this evening. Maybe our visiting friends can enlighten us on the situation down there.

That's the FSU head coach. They were up 2 in the 3rd game when we came up to bat. He made a pitching change near the start of the inning. Our boys proceeded to pound that pitcher hit after hit. Their coach left him in, nobody warming up, and we ended up scoring 6 runs in the inning (the winning runs). Everyone, except him, thought he left the pitcher in too long, and it cost him the game.

But, that was the final game so he wasn’t saving the bullpen for anything.
And Larson had been their prime long relief guy all season, certainly not the bottom of their bullpen.

Not taking anything away from MSU but this home field advantage is definitely worth several runs. Our players are rattled and this game is quickly getting away from us. Already 6-1 and still in the 4th.
This is why getting one of the top 8 seeds was so critical.
