Thanks for these updates/recaps!
Glad to hear Nadia's coming back strong. She was just finally really starting to show her promise last season when she was injured, so hopefully she can pick up where she left off. She had some excellent high post moves and shooting right before her injury IIRC. If she can knock down jumpers from the key and elbow, she will significantly ease the transition from losing Alanna Smith - I much less worried about replacing her productivity under the basket than I am her high post moves that kept our offense so fluid.
I really hope Dodson can take those next steps as 81 was alluding to - she has a lot of potential but even late into last season she still looked like a teenage puppy who doesn't quite know where her feet are and is a little sloppy in movement. If she can get more precise on her footwork it'll make a brobdingnagian different for her shooting and her defense and reduce her fouling rate. And given how many bunnies she missed last season, it sounds like a Mikan Drill (or 10) is just the right prescription.
I wonder what's up with Haley Jones? She was left off the U19 team and many were very surprised, but I wonder if she's had an ongoing injury over the summer? Without knowing more, it's hard to tell what to think, but I can't recall seeing a viral clip of her play or practice anywhere all summer, so maybe it's been more serious than we knew about. It would also explain why Tara hasn't had much to say about her so far.
Can't wait to see new and improved Lexie and Wilson, and to see what Prechtel and Belibi can contribute.
I have to say, I think this may be our most banged up team of just about any I can remember. Every single one of our upperclass candidates to start except Kiana Williams has missed games and/or practice in the past season due to injuries: Carrington, Fingall, Dodson, Lexie, and Wilson. Given the state of our football team, the Athletic Department really needs to get Turley 2.0, because injury prevention has been a real weakness for us lately.
