Which people will be allowed to go to work? How will staffing of grocery stores be insured?

The run on grocery stores has started. The political leaders need to insure they have a plan in place, not just say you don’t have to worry about food. What are the rationing plans?

By comparison, in 2018, a total of 2,839,205 resident deaths were registered in the United States, so if this is as bad as is feared there could 42% of all deaths in the US in 2020 could come from coronavirus.

Likewise for pharmacies, doctors, gas stations, banks, police, trash collection, plumbers, electricians, newspapers, television & radio stations, restaurants (take-out only), and various other businesses.

The CDC did blow the coronavirus PCR test, but it was not because of the "not invented here" syndrome, as the WHO test was not on offer.

The countries WHO helped are ones that lack the virology lab horsepower that exists across the United States. The outreach work by the Pan American Health Organization is a case in point.

Here a a couple of links that allow one to get some details on the CDC test and what is actually in the test kit. Each "kit" provides the required materials for 1000 tests, subject to having 800 positive controls. The "ingredient" that Gavin Newsom seems to have been talking about is the Human Specimen Control (HSC) which the CDC indicates is required but not provided. They do provide instructions on how to make it. While having to make your own is a pain (and not optimal), any CLIA certified lab can do this. The much more serious initial problem with the defective materials in the test was legitimate. The complaint from the Governor about the required but not supplied HSC was, IMHO, completely bogus and very unhelpful. Testing should not be a p*****g contest. All parts of our government need to work toward the same goal, trying to fix the problem rather than fixing the blame at this point.
