Is this a safe assumption?
Given there are now Summer Official Visits, there are no SAT/ACT scores to consider, and the fact many recruits want their college decision made before their Senior season, Stanford Football should have more commits before September than is typically the case?

It's useful in such instances to consider the track record of the poster, and I don't think there is a poster as plugged into the program that shares as much as Sam.
In other words, it probably comes on good authority.

It's useful in such instances to consider the track record of the poster, and I don't think there is a poster as plugged into the program that shares as much as Sam.

OF is just asking. When you have only two commits and others keep committing elsewhere I have no problem with probing the expert. The recent recruiting effort should give all Stanford fans pause.

I will note that the median number of commits in the Pac-12 is 5.5, the lowest (Utah) is 1, and Stanford is 11th in the Pac-12 in number of commits. And/but Stanford is usually near the bottom at this point in the cycle, so this is not unusual. Whether it should be, OTOH, is a different story.

Anybody who has worked at or has had consultant contracts with universities with 'out of control' athletic programs which dominate the school this is the norm. There is always money for coaches and athletic facilities, but not for the academics. A leak library roof vs covered/secured parking for athletic department folks, guess which one at the top of the listed of maintenance items and which one is at the bottom of the list at best?
