and hope that declining vanessa's player previous star, charisma osborne, has not left bitterness.
This makes all kinds of assumptions. We do not know that Stanford "declined" Osborne. We do not know if she applied or not. We do not know if she was admitted. We do not know how she ultimately decided on her school of choice. We know nothing about her interactions with the Stanford staff or program. I don't understand why you say things like Stanford picked Jump over Osborne or declined Osborne. It seems unfair to both Stanford and Osborne, who may simply have liked UCLA better. Maybe she likes LA. Maybe it was closer to home. Maybe she thought their style would suit her better. Maybe she did not want to play behind Williams for two years. Maybe she just really digs Cori Close and the "passion play" concept. If you know any of those things, please fill the rest of us in.
jacob on tos explained in some detail how stanford did not leave room for osborne. to repeat what has been stated by many, osborne was still talking publicly about her interest in stanford when we chose prechtel as our 4th recruit. sure, it's possible jacob was wrong; but he's usually credible.
I am on that board and have never seen anything like that. Someone I know well is very, very tuned in to recruiting and likewise has never seen anything like that. I may ask Jake. So you first maintained that Stanford took Jump over Osborne and now it is Pretchtel?? But of our recruits that year, Jones was last to commit in November. I just do not think we know, or Jake knows, and absent real evidence making assumptions is kinda not a great idea. The other point is that even if Stanford decided they needed a different recruit for whatever reason, there is nothing bad or nefarious about that. Coaches do that all the time. Not everyone who wants to go to a certain school will get a scholarship offer. So even if the "declined" Osborne thing is real, there is nothing underhanded, bad, unusual, etc. about it.
i asked you by private message to stop trashing me. i asked that if you wish to critique me, you do so by private message. since you insist on continuing this flaming publicly, i will respond publicly.
some years back you attacked me mercilessly and repeatedly for posting that tai chi might help prevent knee injuries. i made the suggestion to tara; she thanked me for it. you ranted about how unscientific, misguided, and insulting to the coaching staff my suggestion was. your comments were malicious and gratuitous. for years i felt uncomfortable attending games because you were likely present.
now you start again. what do you have against me?
in the past, i compared osborne to hannah, folks asked me to stop, sounded like a reasonable suggestion, so i stopped. my comment today didn't say a word about hannah jump. i think hannah has done quite well in the latter half of the season and the tournament. her future is bright.
i didn't in any way say - or imply - that anyone was "bad," "nefarious," or "underhanded." please don't malign me by mis-representing my words. i simply hoped that vanessa wouldn't hold it against us that we didn't take osborne.
the context (i thought it was obvious because it had come up so many times before) was that, since we were holding a space for haley jones, when we accepted our 3rd recruit in ashten, we were effectively full and thus declining osborne.
perhaps i'm wrong about not leaving space for osborne. but even if i am wrong, why isn't it, at worst, a reasonable speculation? why would that speculation lead you to declare war on me - again?
please, if i have harmed you in some way, tell me directly. if i haven't, please stop attacking me. we are on the same side, fans of the same team.

Why would a recruit unfollow/unfriend members of the team/program that she intends to sign with and play for? Again, social media can be very telling. I don't like our chances.
If we strike out on Kiki Rice, what PG do we have a realistic chance to sign? Could this end up being a 2 or 3 person class? We've struck out on a few targets already. However, we need a couple more recruits to compliment Betts.
Seems like Rice is headed elsewhere. And we missed on Gardiner and Jones as well. Disappointing given that we just won a national championship and have the #1 player in the 2022 class committed. We really need some guards and 3-point shooters.

Please seek help if a post on a message board causes you so much distress. And the stuff you wrote up there about tai chi is total BS. That is 100% NOT what happened and who gives a hoot about something that was posted well over a decade ago. I agree with you about social media and how it can give great insight into a recruit and where they are leaning however if we are going off of who she is following Stanford looks pretty good. Yes, she's following Duke and Kara Lawson's personal account but she is also following Stanford wbb as well as many of the girls on the team. If we are reading between the lines I think her following Elena Bosgana, Jzaniya Harriel, Brooke Demetre and Kiki Iriafen as a good sign along with some juniors and seniors. I'm not too familiar with the Duke roster but after a quick glance as to who she is following it looks like she's following Stanford players the most. More than Michigan, UCLA, Duke, Yale, Louisville, Maryland, Arizona, BC, UCONN, and UNC. Hope I'm not wrong :/

IMO Stanford currently has no one close to the ball handling skills of Williams. While Jones has some amazing skills she does not have the same ability to weave in and out of traffic like Williams. Stanford could use an elite ball dribbler to move the ball around the court while looking for open players.

With one obvious exception we have some great posters here.
I’m not moving on will stay very disappointed for a few days.
I will say again having watched every game I love Jana. I think she will be very very good. I hope with her knee cleaned out Jenna will be the MCD we recruited. We know she can drive.
So who do we now want and believe we can get. Yes I too believe in the social media posts

IMHO Jana is a very good ballhandler and a better passer than Kiana. She has been a point guard for longer than Kiana and will do very well

Dorka Juhasz to UConn. That's a great get that makes an already dangerous UConn even better. Their one weakness may have been in the post with Fudd, Bueckers, and Westbrook in the backcourt, but an Edwards, Juhasz, and Nelson-Ododa front court changes things along with the arrival of Amari DeBerry.

From another board. Here are 19 of the 20 invitees to the U16 national team trials. I believe this info is gathered from the social media of the invitees or their clubs. Another 10 players will be selected from players applying. In bold are the players we are purported to be linked to. Hopefully there are more on this list that we are pursuing that we just don't know about yet.
