This was a big issue in the Netherlands, which also farms mink back in April, when both mink and mink farmers tested positive, and there was some genetic evidence that the farmers got sick from the mink.  As a result, the country brought forward their ban on farming mink, which had been scheduled to occur in 2024.

I'm surprised the response was on-site composting.  I think isolated + enclosed incineration + dousing with alcohol/soap would have been a more intuitive response.

I remember house cats and minks as covid carriers.  Cats might be just carriers, but minks apparently do die from covid.  Be on the look out...
