One overarching observation about this game is nice to see. Athletically, Stanford is on par with, or maybe slightly superior to Alabama. Stanford's length and quickness is quite evident. Of course, they can't finish at the rim as per usual, so what else is new.

Great first half.  Wonderful to see us able to compete with a high scoring team without having to take the air out of the ball.  Having a great player who is also a great team player could really open up opportunities for other players to shine.  Loving this.  Hope we see more through this game and whatever future games we get.

Misspoke.  Yardley is correct on PPG; Kelly was wrong on RPG.  Yardley owns the career best marks for both points (19.2) and rebounds (8.4).

Ziaire is the go-to guy for points, with Oscar down low. We've been resting them much more in the 2nd half. I'd be surprised if we see more of them inside 5 mins to go provided the score stays like this.

Loved Wills getting really aggressive, and even knocking down a 3! 11 points in the 2H for Wills. If he can get 10ish PPG consistently, that would be excellent for us.

Well, I was worried that losing our Utah Valley opener was going to hose us, and this level of competition would be too steep for a first game.  Huh.

This doesn't nearly make up for the loss to these guys in the year-that-shall-not-be-named, but still a healthy measure of revenge.  No complaints here.

When Dan Grunfeld's shot at the buzzer clanged into the front iron, I crumpled up in a heap on the floor of the Old Pro, screaming, "THAT DID NOT JUST ******* HAPPEN!!!"  There was a table of Syracuse fans right next to me.  They looked down and laughed.  Little did they know that the elephants would flatten them, too....

It was also a good couple of years before I could listen to the song "Sweet Home Alabama" without snapping.  Made some parties tricky.

Loved the entire team (special mention Wills, Davis, Da Silva and of course Williams), loved that a number of frosh got PT, didn't really appreciate the announcers not acknowledging wtf occurrences (like Ziaire moonshot from seemingly the stands), and happy to finally learn how ZW's name is pronounced (zye-AIR, I believe). Seems like there's a t-shirt design in there somewhere. Looking forward to 1pm Pacific tomorrow. #gocard
