That game has to be one of Stanford's best comebacks ever.  All the momentum was against Stanford, but they rallied for two TDs in the last 2:30 to tie it up. Then a win in double overtime. That showed some real resilience, some guts. 

What a nice way to end the season!

This game had elements of the 2005 UCLA game (we could only watch a big lead disappear), 2011 USC game (multiple overtimes, pick 6 late in the fourth quarter), and the 2018 Oregon game (opponent basically had it won until they fumbled late).

A win is a win. But what a train wreck of a game. We certainly hacked up a hairball of epic proportions, rivaling Wlat's game 15 years ago. Then, time for them to cough up one as well. A back up qb runs into the back up hb and the subsequent fumble gives us a chance to tie. 

Can't wait to read the comments on our epic coaching and resiliency. . . . .

It's a meaningless game in a meaningless season... but I was still happy to see us take the win.  To end up 4-2 for the season is quite an accomplishment, all things considered, especially playing the last three games on the road without coming back to Stanford.  I'm glad we aren't going to a bowl game.

I think going for 2 was the right call for UCLA.  Interestingly the overall CFB 2 point conversion percentage is about 40% in recent years, but I would have put UCLA's probability more along the lines of 80%.

I agree with an earlier poster, this game had a fever-ish quality that, for this fan, was not super fun but of course I could not look away.

1.) Fehoko played a great game. I am too mentally exhausted to think about next year, but the announcers said he set a school record for receptions that was well earned.

2.) The defense did its job, all things considered, and the defensive MVP for me is Dalyn Wade-Perry, who btw gets my vote on the All-Time Improved Player Team. I wasn't sure he would be more than a role player the first time I saw him play, but tonight he recovered a key fumble and made sure that UCLA's Brown wouldn't be able to drag Herron into the end zone. 

All this while playing way, way more snaps than must be comfortable for the XXL crowd (Booker and Schafer, too, were iron men tonight).

3.) Mills wasn't brilliant even in the first half, but he is truly a gifted passer and that shines through even when he has an off day like today. Today's game, believe it or not, did almost nothing to lower his draft stock. It's more likely than not that we have seen the last of him in a Stanford uniform, as he has a second-round grade, for sure.

4.) The first two-point conversion attempt by UCLA was just plain weird, and I was shocked and delighted to see UCLA on the second try opt for the most unimaginative play in the playbook, a dive up the middle. I think some will second-guess Kelly tonight.

5.) As for Shaw, the time management was pretty bad and it's easy to second-guess the lack of carries for Jones in the third quarter. Also, Toner was clearly not 100% and so Karty should have been kicking those PATs. But the team came out with great focus and kept enough poise to rally for an improbable victory against a solid opponent on the road.

Jones had 23 carries for 92 yards and 2 TDs. Nice game.

Mills ended up 32 of 47 for 428 yards and 3 TDs, which is really good. . . . and 3 interceptions, which is . . . not really good.

This game is why 50-season Stanford fans know they can never be too far ahead, or too far behind. It's a 60 minute game.  Sometimes more.  Wow.

Hell of a game! Hell of a season.  Hats off to the team (and coaches) for a 4-game road winning streak under incredibly difficult circumstances.  Image if they didn't mix up those covid tests....

On a down note, Thomas Schaffer's knee was bent backward badly on the very last play. (We certainly would take him back for a sixth year, but I doubt he'd do that, especially not if he's facing rehab.)

I always hate it when a guy's last play of his last game in college is an injury. It looked bad, too.  But let's hope for the best.

UCLA scored 31 unanswered points in the second half, including a demoralizing, backbreaking, pick-6 to give the Bruins a 14-point lead late in the 4th quarter. Stanford managed to pull itself out of that hole by driving 75 yards and 72 yards to score two TDs in the last 2:34. Then they outlasted UCLA in double OT. All this after a 3-week road trip without returning to campus. That's resilience.
