BTW, read an odd bit of trivia the other day, speaking of great players playing on # of WS champs: Babe Ruth "only" played on four WS champions with the Yankees, and were in the WS less than half of his 15 seasons. The Yanks were 4-3 in the WS during that time (wins over NYG, PIT, StL, CHI; losses to NYG(2x) and StL.
I would have thought Ruth's NYY WS wins would have been more. He played on three WS champions with the Red Sox out of 6 seasons, a far higher percentage.
Other odd Ruth trivia -- he pitched 323 innings in 1916 without giving up an HR. Even Cy Young gave up 0 HRs in just one season, and that was with about half the innings pitched. Walter Johnson did it in 1916 as well.
Does Greg Minton still own the live ball era streak of 269 innings without giving up an HR?

I screwed up Bobbbbbbbbb. Barry Pepper played the other villain Wild Ned Pepper. Pepper played Roger Maris in “61” the Billy Crystal directed film about Mantle and Maris.
