About two decades ago -- so I don't know if this is still the case -- I was selling to the head of strategy for one of the fast food chains, and he mentioned that Fresno was the fast food capital of the world, because the highest percentage of fast food meals vis-a-vis all meals consumed was in Fresno. So much so, that whenever the chains had a new product to test, they would test it in Fresno first.
